Summer Term- Rainforests

Summer Term

During the Summer term, Year 3 and 4's topic will be 'Rainforests', this is our Geography based topic. We will be visiting the Yorkshire Wildlife Park, where we will get to see many animals that live in rainforests throughout the world and get up close to some of them! In Science, we will be looking at plants and animals including humans. We will be learning all about the different parts of plants- how they survive and grow. Also, finding out all about different species of animals and their similarities and differences. In Geography, we will be finding out where on Earth our amazing rainforests are found and what it is like in these unique environments.

In art, we will be conducting observational sketches of animals on our visit, and lots of other fun and exciting opportunities to develop our artistic knowledge and skills. In PSHE we will be exploring the use and safety around drugs and medicines, and the effects this can have on our bodies. In RE we will explore links between the Christian and Hindu religions.

If you have any books or resources which will support our learning in this topic, please label them clearly with your child’s name before bringing them into school.
