Today you will be continuing and editing your Sci-Fi story.
Remember - You can be as creative as you like. Your story should be a short story with a simple beginning, middle and end. Try to add in expanded noun phrases and speech (as you have covered these topics this week in your SPAG lessons). You can also include any other features that you would use in school – for example, a range of punctuation, simple, compound and complex sentences, relative clauses, etc.
Make sure you leave 10 minutes at the end of your writing to edit and improve your work.
Use the craft instructions to create your own wellbeing jar. Having things to look forward to can make you feel happier and improve your wellbeing. Each time you think of something you would like to do in the future, write it on a piece of paper and place it inside your decorated jar.
This week we will be creating a game where players stop objects moving by changing their properties.
To get to this search for discovery education > log in > coding > Block Coding > Level 6 > object properties > Don’t feed the birds
As it is World Book Day we are setting a writing challenge!
We want you to write a letter to your favourite author. If you can make your letters really personal and interesting, you have a good chance of getting an exciting reply.
Write to the authors care of the publishers. You will find the address on the inside cover of one of their books.
Every Friday you will have the opportunity to complete a poetry challenge. There is a different poetry challenge for each week this half term. Just locate the poem online (on the link below) and then answer the questions after choosing your level of difficulty – mild, spicy or hot.
Here is the link for this week’s poem – I’m tired
