Homework is usually given every Friday to be returned by the following Wednesday. If your child does not have this (or it has become damaged or lost) please ask them to get a new sheet or I can send these via message on Dojo.
Additional work which can be completed at home includes:
Reading: This is an essential skill that helps to work the imagination and is thoroughly enjoyable! Although your child will have an ability-appropriate reading book from school in their book bag to take home each night, your child can read anything they choose at home: something on the internet, a magazine or even a bus timetable or take-away menu! Encouraging a love of reading is a life-long skill that impacts every other subject in primary school and beyond. Please record any reading conducted at home in your child's home-school reading diary (they can do this if they wish) and we can celebrate their achievements in school.
Spelling: In the front of your child's home-school reading diary, there is a list of Y3/4 (and Y5/6) statutory spellings. These are spellings that will be assessed throughout the year (and possibly in the Y6 SATs too). Activities you could do using these words include: practising the spelling, discussing the meaning and applying these in written (or oral) sentences.
TTRS/Numbots: As a school we subscribe to Times Table Rock Stars and Numbots which is an online platform to practise maths skills including number bonds, multiplication and division skills. If your child has misplaced their log-in details, please get in touch. Please encourage your child to practise these as often as possible. Keep your eye on Class Dojo for competitions and tournements too!
