The Train Ride W/C 12/10/2020

We going on a Train Ride

we have been reading the story the Train Ride by June Crebbin in school. Here is a link for you to look at the story and listen to it being read.

I would like you to make a train using whatever you have at home. You could use building blocks, boxes or collage materials. Maybe you could use chairs or the sofa to make a train big enough to carry you and your family on a journey!
Please send me pictures of what you make.

Can you draw a picture of what you might see out of the train window?

Counting challenge - How many on the Train?

We have been practicing our counting skills to 5 by counting teddy bears onto a train. Have a go at some counting at home.  You could make a train out of chairs and count how many Teddy Bear's fit on your train. You could count some of your toys, some sweets or collect some leaves, sticks or pebbles outside and count how many you have. Or find other ways of counting.   I have put a train picture here for you if you want to use it. Try to use these skills:

  • Say the number names in order
  • Say one number name for each object you count
  • Touch or move the object so you only count it once
  • Stop saying number names when you have counted all the objects
