Science:

Task: Use the PPT to support your own scientific enquiry where you will plan and conduct an exercise investigation

You will find different templates to support your investigation and writing up of it. Please note you only need to choose one template - practical enquiry or fair and comparative test. There is also a recording sheet for another investigation where you can compare pulse rates with members of your family.

ART:

Read the information about David Hockney then have a go at creating your own portraiture.

The process of painting a picture or taking a photograph of a person is called portraiture. If an art exhibit only includes pictures of faces, you can describe its focus as portraiturePortraiture is the art of making a portrait, which is a close study of one person.

Find inspiration from David Hockney’s collection: 82 Portraits and 1 Still-Life

To view each portrait from Hockney’s collection, click on the link below.

Writing:

L.I Know the features of a debate

Task: After watching the debate PowerPoint presentation, create a how to debate guide. Use the information in the PowerPoint to help you. Don’t forget include the rules as well as key words/ phrases. You could even include a glossary.

R.E:

Task: Write a short advert from a Christian music company/band such as ‘Worship Central’

Your aim is to persuade Christians of the spiritual benefits of listening to their songs: reminding them of God’s presence; helping them to know God better; part of their praise and worship and helping to comfort and encourage them.

PSHE:

Use the countries picture sheet to see how our country shares its culture with the rest of the world. Things that were originally British can now be seen as far as Australia! The second sheet shows us just a few example of what we have adopted/acquired from other countries.

Your task is to think about the things that are important to you and your family e.g. music, food/drink, transport, fashion, machinery/electronics, festivals/celebrations, etc. Do these originate from Britain or from somewhere else in the world? Write down your findings.

L.I. To plan an argument

The question is should organ donation be made compulsory? The theme links to our topic Amazing Anatomy. In writing this argument, you will have to consider arguments for and against organ donation. Over the last few weeks you have learnt lots about the body and how important each organ is. You can use some of this knowledge in your argument as well as that contained in the attached PowerPoint on organ donation.

Please note:  This resource contains potentially sensitive information that may upset you and if this is the case, please choose another subject to write an argument about.

To support you in your task, there is a PowerPoint that will guide you through the expectations of what is required to write a good argument. You also have a WAGOLL (what a good one looks like) on the question about homework: Should homework be banned?

Task: Your task is NOT to write the argument on whether organ donation should be compulsory but to plan for it. As always, when planning writing some research may be required. Remember to use the attached PowerPoint on organ donation as it will help you to gain more information on the subject matter. If you need more please use search engines to research more.

Lastly, remember if this subject to too sensitive, please choose another area to write about.

History:

LI: To identify the factors that contributed to the spread of the plague

Task: Complete as many of the Great Plague challenge cards as you can.

Remember you can refer back to the PowerPoint if you need to or use the internet to help find the answers.

For Music this week use your personal log ins to access the Charanga portal. You will be able to access the modules we would have covered in class.
