Ethos and Values

Aims, Vision and Values:
Let your light shine (Matthew 5:16)
Core values: ‘Have respect, Have courage, Have faith’.

Our vision is to nurture and inspire our whole school community, to use their God-given gifts, to be the best that they can be, so that they can let their light shine to the world.

To do this we seek to inspire our children to:

have courage

have respect

have faith

These three ‘haves’ are understood in a distinctive Christian way. Our vision is that children will ‘have’ these virtues – that they will form and mould the character of our children and become the way in which they flourish in school and life.

As a Church of England school, we are committed to our Christian ethos.  A school in which children feel confident about their work and enjoy belonging to a community that encourages independence and respect.

At Treeton Primary School we:

  • Celebrate children’s own unique talents and skills “Let your light shine” Matthew 5 V16

  • Have courage - Provide opportunities for children to have a voice and contribute to the school community and beyond

  • Have respect - Let children know that they are valued and respected

  • Have faith - Develop children’s confidence, security and trust. Ensure pupils have faith in themselves, in adults and in God.

In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5 V16
