General Information

Class Dojo

Throughout the year, Class Dojo will be used as our main communication platform to share important updates, curriculum information, and photographs of learning completed in school. Parents and carers should be automatically connected to their child’s Year 6 Class Dojo page.
If you experience any difficulties accessing the app or have not received the correct login details, please inform us so this can be resolved promptly.

Homework

Spellings and other homework tasks are given to children each Monday. Homework is marked and spellings are tested on the following Monday.  It is very important that pupils complete their homework as this demonstrates their understanding outside of the lesson and also helps to consolidate understanding.

Physical Education (PE)

PE lessons will take place on Monday (outdoor) and Tuesday (indoor).
Please ensure that your child has the correct PE kit in school throughout the week as lesson times may occasionally change. For health and safety reasons, jewellery should not be worn during PE lessons and earrings must be removed.

Reading

At Treeton C of E Primary School, reading is a key priority and an essential life skill. Regular reading supports pupils’ fluency, comprehension, and confidence across the curriculum. In Year 6, children will engage in a range of reading activities throughout the week, including independent reading, partner reading, whole class reading, and additional comprehension-focused lessons.

To support progress, we ask that pupils read at home at least three times per week. Reading records are checked weekly, and pupils who meet this expectation will receive raffle tickets. At the end of each half term, a ticket is drawn and the winner receives a £5 WHSmith voucher.  Children who read three times every week across a full half term will also be awarded with a reading certificate.

Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions about reading in Year 6 or would like further guidance on how to support your child’s reading at home. Thank you for your continued support.
