Useful Information
Class Dojo
Over the year we will use ClassDojo to communicate with parents, share current learning and photographs of work completed. You should be automatically connected to your child's new ClassDojo page. Please let us know if you have any trouble using this app or have not received the appropriate log in.
Home Learning
Every Friday, your child will bring home their home learning challenge book, with their homework for that week stuck inside. Homework will be based on previous learning we have covered in class. Homework is due in every Wednesday, and children will receive a house point for completing their homework. Spellings will also be sent home every Friday for your child to practice at home, ready for our weekly spelling test on a Friday morning. We look forward to seeing the work you do at home.
PE
Our PE lessons are Tuesday (outdoor) and Thursday (indoor).
Please ensure children have the appropriate PE kit in school throughout the whole week, so they always have this in school should our PE lessons need to change last minute. Please note that jewellery should not be worn for PE and earrings need to be taken out or covered up appropriately by your children.
Reading
At Treeton C of E Primary we see reading as a priority as it is a vital skill for life. It is important that children read regularly, both in school and at home, in order to develop their fluency, comprehension and confidence. Children will have many opportunities throughout the week to read independently, with partners, or to a teacher, as well as participating in Phonics or Comprehension lessons daily.
In order to support your child with their reading, we kindly ask that you take the time to read with your child at least three times per week. We regularly check reading diaries each week and award raffle tickets each time a child reads three times at home. At the end of the half term, raffle tickets are drawn out and the winner will receive a £5 WHSmith voucher! If your child reads three times a week every week throughout a full half term, they will also receive a reading certificate!
Please get in touch if you have any questions about what reading looks like in school, or how you can support your child's reading journey more at home. Thank you for your continued support.
