World Book Day

WORLD BOOK DAY 2021

This year to celebrate World Book Day on March 4th we will:

• Ask children to dress as their favourite book character or make a prop that is linked to their favourite character. Of course you can do both if you wish. We encourage children who are at home to take a picture and share it with their class teacher, and please do wear your World Book Day outfit to your live lessons or to school if you are in class.

• Have a World Book Day competition to design a poster that will motivate and inspire children to read. A winner from each year group will be chosen and they will each receive a prize. The closing date to receive entries is Monday 8th March.

• Encourage you all to write to your favourite author. Perhaps you could ask them any questions you may have or invite them to join us in school via zoom or Microsoft Teams in the Summer Term. It will be exciting to see just how many responses our school gets back.

• Just for fun! The teachers are taking part in 'The Masked Storyteller'. Each teacher will read a short extract from their favourite book, but they will be masked. The challenge is to guess which masked teacher is who! The answers will be revealed at the end of World Book Day.

Lastly, please note that World Book Day vouchers will be out to children on Monday 8th March. These are valid until Sunday 28th March.
