World Book Day

WORLD BOOK DAY

We love to celebrate World Book Day each year. This year on March 5th we:

• Asked children to dress as a word. This could be a noun, verb or adjective. Can you guess any words? Some children chose to dress as their favourite book character too. Which is your favourite?

• We held a World Book Day competition to write a book. Our School Councillors spent time reading and voting for their favourite books. The books were displayed in the library for all to read. Here are some of our entries:

  • We celebrated our love of reading by holding a whole school event. Each class spent time learning about a different author and then displayed it in the school hall. Parents were invited to visit and spend time with their child looking at and reading their work. We also held a book fayre which raised over £500 worth of free books for the school. Thank you so much.
