Literacy 

This week, in literacy, we are looking at newspaper reports so that we can write our own based on the moon landings. 

Your literacy tasks for this week are as follows: 

• Look at the resources below to familiarise yourself with both the features of a newspaper report and the history of space travel and the moon landings.
• Explore different newspaper so that you know the layout and language features of this text type. These can be found online or your parents may buy newspapers that you can look at. 
• Challenge - can you use the information you have found to create a live news report detailing the events of either the first man in space or the moon landing. This should be in a TV news style - you can watch some Newsround clips for inspiration (https://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround). You could present it to your family or even record yourself and post on your portfolio on Class Dojo.

Don't forget to make sure you are reading every day and writing in your reading journal as well. 

Topic 

Our new topic this term is 'Through the Decades'. We are starting with the 60s. 

Can you research this topic and create a poster with what you have learnt? You can focus on any areas you would like - for example sport, music, events, fashion, famous people, etc, 

Science 

Our new science topic is Earth and Space.
